42 They are not to be sold as slaves,[a] because they are my servants[b] that I brought out of the land of Egypt. 43 You are not to rule over them harshly(A) but fear your God. 44 Your male and female slaves are to be from the nations around you; you may purchase male and female slaves.

44 Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.
