Leviticus 17:9-11

9 and (A)does not bring it to the doorway of the tent of meeting to [a]offer it to the Lord, that person also shall be cut off from his people.
10 ‘(B)And anyone from the house of Israel, or from the strangers who reside among them, who eats any blood, (C)I will set My face against that person who eats the blood, and will cut him off from among his people. 11 For (D)the [b]life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for (E)it is the blood by reason of the [c]life that makes atonement.’

8-9 Jag upprepar: Vare sig det är en israelit eller en främling som bor bland er, som frambär ett brännoffer eller slaktoffer någon annanstans än vid ingången till tabernaklet, där det ska frambäras till Herren, så ska han uteslutas från gemenskapen.
10 Och jag ska vända mitt ansikte från den person som äter blod av något slag, vare sig det är en israelit eller en utlänning som bor hos er. Jag ska utrota honom ur hans folk.
11 För livet finns i blodet, och jag har gett er blodet till att stänka på altaret till försoning för era liv. Det är blodet som ger försoning, därför att det är liv.
