²⁵ and he overthrew those cities and all the plain and all the inhabitants of the cities and what grew on the ground.^(A)

¹² I tell you, on that day it will be more tolerable for Sodom than for that town.^(A)

⁴⁷ That slave who knew what his master wanted but did not prepare himself or do what was wanted will receive a severe beating.^(A)

²¹ For at that time there will be great suffering, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.^(A)

²³ And you, Capernaum,

“For if the deeds of power done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.^{(A) 24} But I tell you that on the day of judgment it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom than for you.”^(B)

¹² He has confirmed his words that he spoke against us and against our rulers by bringing upon us a calamity so great that what has been done against Jerusalem has never before been done under the whole heaven.^(A)

⁴⁸ As I live, says the Lord God, your sister Sodom and her daughters have not done as you and your daughters have done.^{(A) 49} This was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease but did not aid the poor and needy.^{(B) 50} They were haughty and did abominable things before me; therefore I removed them when I saw it.^(C)
