Forty Years of Peace

²⁸ So Midian was subdued before the sons of Israel, and they did not lift up their heads anymore. And the land was undisturbed for forty years in the days of Gideon.

²¹ And I said, “What are these coming to do?” And he said, “These are the ^(A)horns that have scattered Judah so that no one lifts up his head; but these craftsmen have come to frighten them, to ^(B)throw down the horns of the nations who have lifted up their horns against the land of Judah in order to scatter it.”
