⁴³ They encircled the army of Benjamin east of Gibeah, and killed most of them there. ⁴⁴ Eighteen thousand of the Benjamin troops died in that day’s battle. ⁴⁵ The rest of the army fled into the wilderness toward the rock of Rimmon, but 5,000 were killed along the way, and 2,000 more near Gidom.
