²³ They went up, wept^(A) before the Lord until evening,^(B) and inquired of him, “Should we again attack our brothers the Benjaminites?”

And the Lord answered, “Fight against them.”

²⁷ Then the Israelites inquired of the Lord. In those days, the ark of the covenant^(A) of God was there,

²² They again inquired of the Lord,^(A) “Has the man come here yet?”

The Lord replied, “There he is, hidden among the supplies.”

² So David inquired of the Lord:^(A) “Should I launch an attack against these Philistines?”

The Lord answered David, “Launch an attack against the Philistines and rescue Keilah.”

⁴ Once again, David inquired of the Lord, and the Lord answered him, “Go at once to Keilah, for I will hand the Philistines over to you.”^(A)

⁶ He inquired of the Lord, but the Lord did not answer him in dreams or by the Urim or by the prophets.^(A)
