³⁴ Then Jephthah came to his house at ^(A)Mizpah. And behold, his daughter was coming out to meet him ^(B)with tambourines and with dancing. Now she was his one and only child; besides her he had no son or daughter.

Saul Looks at David with Suspicion

⁶ And it happened as they were coming, when David returned from striking down the Philistine, that ^(A)the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with tambourines, with gladness, and with ^[a]musical instruments.

¹⁶ Then David said to the chiefs of the Levites ^(A)to appoint their relatives the singers, with instruments of music, harps, lyres, loud-sounding cymbals, to raise a sound of gladness.
