²⁵ And the Spirit of the Lord began to stir him while he lived in Mahaneh-dan, which is located between the towns of Zorah and Eshtaol.

¹⁰ The Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he became Israel’s judge. He went to war against King Cushan-rishathaim of Aram, and the Lord gave Othniel victory over him.

³⁴ For he is sent by God. He speaks God’s words, for God gives him the Spirit without limit.

The Temptation of Jesus

4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil.

⁶ Then the Spirit of God came powerfully upon Saul, and he became very angry.

¹¹ So 600 men from the tribe of Dan, armed with weapons of war, set out from Zorah and Eshtaol. ¹² They camped at a place west of Kiriath-jearim in Judah, which is called Mahaneh-dan^[a] to this day.

Jephthah’s Vow
