10 Niloob ni Yahweh na magulo ang mga ito dahil sa takot nang makita ang hukbo ng Israel. Nilipol sila ng mga Israelita sa Gibeon; hinabol sila sa paglusong ng Beth-horon hanggang sa Azeka at sa Makeda. 11 Samantalang tumatakas sila sa paghabol ng mga Israelita, pinaulanan sila ni Yahweh ng malalaking tipak ng yelo buhat sa langit; umabot ito hanggang sa Azeka at napakaraming namatay. Mas marami pa ang namatay sa pagbagsak ng yelo kaysa tabak ng mga Israelita.
Tumigil ang Araw at ang Buwan
12 Noong araw na ang mga Israelita'y pinagtagumpay ni Yahweh laban sa mga Amoreo, nakipag-usap si Josue kay Yahweh. Ito ang sinabi niya na naririnig ng buong bayan:
“Huminto ka, Araw, sa tapat ng Gibeon,
at ikaw rin, Buwan, sa Libis ng Ayalon.”

10 (A)And the Lord threw them into a panic before Israel, who[a] struck them with a great blow at Gibeon and chased them by the way of (B)the ascent of Beth-horon and struck them as far as Azekah and Makkedah. 11 And as they fled before Israel, while they were (C)going down the ascent of Beth-horon, (D)the Lord threw down large stones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died because of the hailstones than the sons of Israel killed with the sword.
12 At that time Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel,
(E)“Sun, stand still at Gibeon,
and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”
