40 På så sätt besegrade Josua och hans armé hela landet, folken och kungarna i bergsbygden, på syd- och låglandet och på bergssluttningarna. De dödade alla i hela landet, precis som Herren, Israels Gud, hade gett befallning om,
41 alla från Kades- Barnea till Gasa, och från Gosen ända till Gibeon.
42 Allt detta genomfördes i en följd, och Herren, Israels Gud, stred för sitt folk.

40 So Joshua conquered all the land: the (A)mountain country and the [a]South and the lowland and the wilderness slopes, and (B)all their kings; he left none remaining, but (C)utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel had commanded. 41 And Joshua conquered them from (D)Kadesh Barnea as far as (E)Gaza, (F)and all the country of Goshen, even as far as Gibeon. 42 All these kings and their land Joshua took at one time, (G)because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.

40 So Joshua subdued the whole region, including the hill country, the Negev,(A) the western foothills and the mountain slopes,(B) together with all their kings.(C) He left no survivors. He totally destroyed all who breathed, just as the Lord, the God of Israel, had commanded.(D) 41 Joshua subdued them from Kadesh Barnea(E) to Gaza(F) and from the whole region of Goshen(G) to Gibeon. 42 All these kings and their lands Joshua conquered in one campaign, because the Lord, the God of Israel, fought(H) for Israel.
