⁹ and said to the men: ^(A)“I know that the Lord has given you the land, that ^(B)the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land ^(C)are fainthearted because of you.

²⁴ And they said to Joshua, “Truly ^(A)the Lord has delivered all the land into our hands, for indeed all the inhabitants of the country are fainthearted because of us.”

8 Now the Lord said to Joshua: ^(A)“Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed; take all the people of war with you, and arise, go up to Ai. See, ^(B)I have given into your hand the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land.
