16 And the lot fell to the children of Joseph, from Jordan by Jericho to the water of Jericho, eastward, to the wilderness that goes up from Jericho by Mount Bethel

² and goes out from Bethel to Luz and runs along to the borders of Archi Ataroth

³ and goes down westward to the territory of Japhlet, to the territory of Beth Horon (the lower) and to Gezer. And its ends are at the Sea.

⁴ So the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.

⁵ Also, the borders of the children of Ephraim, according to their families, the borders of their inheritance on the East Side, were Ataroth Addar, to Beth Horon (the upper).

⁶ And this border goes out to the Sea, to Michmethath on the North Side. And this border returns eastward to Taanath Shiloh and passes it on the East Side, to Janohah,

⁷ and goes down from Janohah to Ataroth and Naarah and comes to Jericho and goes out at Jordan.

⁸ And this border goes from Tappuah, westward, to the river, Kanah. And its ends are at the Sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim, by their families.

⁹ And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.

¹⁰ And they did not cast out the Canaanite who dwelt in Gezer. But the Canaanite dwells among the Ephraimites to this day and serves under tribute.
