⁹ And Moses swore on that day, saying, ^(A)‘Surely the land ^(B)on which your foot has trodden shall be an inheritance for you and your children forever, because you have wholly followed the Lord my God.’

^3 (A)Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses.

^36 (A)except Caleb the son of Jephunneh. He shall see it, and to him and to his children I will give the land on which he has trodden, because he has wholly followed the Lord!’

^22 (A)none of the men who have seen my glory and my signs that I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and yet have put me to the test these ^(B)ten times and have not obeyed my voice, ^23 (C)shall see the land that I swore to give to their fathers. And none of those who despised me shall see it. ²⁴ But my servant ^(D)Caleb, because he has a different spirit and has ^(E)followed me fully, I will bring into the land into which he went, and his descendants shall possess it.

²² They went up into ^(A)the Negeb and came to ^(B)Hebron. ^(C)Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the ^(D)descendants of Anak, were there. (^(E)Hebron was built seven years before ^(F)Zoan in Egypt.)
