⁹ and said to the men, “^(A)I know that Yahweh has given you the land, and that the ^(B)terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land have ^[a]melted away before you.

¹¹ Indeed we heard it, ^(A)and our hearts melted, and a courageous spirit no longer rose up in any man because of you; for ^(B)Yahweh your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.

²⁴ And they said to Joshua, “Surely Yahweh has given all the land into our hands; moreover, ^(A)all the inhabitants of the land have ^[a]melted away before us.”

The Men of Israel Circumcised

5 Now it happened when all the kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west, and all the kings of the ^(A)Canaanites who were by the sea, ^(B)heard how Yahweh had dried up the waters of the Jordan before the sons of Israel until ^[a]they had crossed, that their hearts melted, and there was no spirit in them any longer because of the sons of Israel.
