¹³ And it shall come to pass, ^(A)as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the Lord, ^(B)the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, the waters that come down from upstream, and they ^(C)shall stand as a heap.”

¹⁵ and as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and ^(A)the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the ^(B)Jordan overflows all its banks ^(C)during the whole time of harvest), ¹⁶ that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away ^[a]at Adam, the city that is beside ^(D)Zaretan. So the waters that went down ^(E)into the Sea of the Arabah, ^(F)the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho.

¹¹ Behold, the ark of the covenant of ^(A)the Lord of all the earth is crossing over before you into the Jordan.

¹⁹ And the Angel of God, ^(A)who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. ²⁰ So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night.

²¹ Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and ^(B)made the sea into dry land, and the waters were ^(C)divided. ²² So ^(D)the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were ^(E)a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
