^19 [a]Nevertheless, if the land of your possession is unclean, then cross over to the land of the possession of the Lord, ^(A)where the Lord’s tabernacle stands, and take possession among us; but do not rebel against the Lord, nor rebel against us, by building yourselves an altar besides the altar of the Lord our God.

The Remainder of the Land Divided

18 Now the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together ^(A)at Shiloh, and ^(B)set up the tabernacle of meeting there. And the land was subdued before them.

⁸ But I said, ‘Not so, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered my mouth.’ ⁹ But the voice answered me again from heaven, ‘What God has cleansed you must not call common.’

¹⁴ But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! ^(A)For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”

¹⁵ And a voice spoke to him again the second time, ^(B)“What God has ^[a]cleansed you must not call common.”

¹⁷ “Therefore^(A) thus says the Lord:

^16 (A)And ^[a]after the Levites left, those from all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heart to seek the Lord God of Israel, ^(B)came to Jerusalem to sacrifice to the Lord God of their fathers. ¹⁷ So they ^(C)strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong for three years, because they walked in the way of David and Solomon for three years.

Priests and Levites Move to Judah^(A)

¹³ And from all their territories the priests and the Levites who were in all Israel took their stand with him.

⁵ “But you shall seek the ^(A)place where the Lord your God chooses, out of all your tribes, to put His name for His ^(B)dwelling^[a] place; and there you shall go. ^6 (C)There you shall take your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, your vowed offerings, your freewill offerings, and the ^(D)firstborn of your herds and flocks.

²⁵ For ^(A)the land is defiled; therefore I ^(B)visit^[a] the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land ^(C)vomits out its inhabitants. ^26 (D)You shall therefore ^[b]keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you ²⁷ (for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled), ²⁸ lest ^(E)the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you.
