¹⁶ But the children of Joseph said, “The mountain country is not enough for us; and all the Canaanites who dwell in the land of the valley have ^(A)chariots of iron, both those who are of Beth Shean and its towns and those who are ^(B)of the Valley of Jezreel.”

¹² Baana the son of Ahilud, in Taanach, Megiddo, and all Beth Shean, which is beside Zaretan below Jezreel, from Beth Shean to Abel Meholah, as far as the other side of Jokneam;

³ And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord; for Jabin had nine hundred ^(A)chariots of iron, and for twenty years ^(B)he had harshly oppressed the children of Israel.

¹⁹ So the Lord was with Judah. And they drove out the mountaineers, but they could not drive out the inhabitants of the lowland, because they had ^(A)chariots of iron.

³³ Then all ^(A)the Midianites and Amalekites, the people of the East, gathered together; and they crossed over and encamped in ^(B)the Valley of Jezreel.

¹⁸ but the mountain country shall be yours. Although it is wooded, you shall cut it down, and its ^[a]farthest extent shall be yours; for you shall drive out the Canaanites, ^(A)though they have iron chariots and are strong.”

⁴ Then the Lord said to him:

³⁷ and the corpse of Jezebel shall be ^(A)as refuse on the surface of the field, in the plot at Jezreel, so that they shall not say, “Here lies Jezebel.” ’ ”

^10 (A)The dogs shall eat Jezebel on the plot of ground at Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her.’ ” And he opened the door and fled.

²³ And ^(A)concerning Jezebel the Lord also spoke, saying, ‘The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the ^[a]wall of Jezreel.’
