So he went down to (F)Joppa, found a ship which was going to Tarshish, and [a]paid its fare and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of Yahweh.

But (G)Yahweh hurled a great wind on the sea, and there was a great storm on the sea so that the ship gave thought to [b]breaking apart.

“Go to the great city of Nineveh(A) and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.”

But Jonah ran(B) away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish(C). He went down to Joppa,(D) where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.(E)

Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up.(F)

But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.

But the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.
