Jonah 1:11-13
King James Version
11 Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous.
12 And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you.
13 Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous against them.

11 So they said to him, “What should we do to you so that the sea will become calm [a]for us?”—for the sea was becoming increasingly stormy. 12 And he said to them, “Pick me up and hurl me into the sea. Then the sea will become calm [b]for you, because I know that (A)on account of me this great storm has come upon you.” 13 However, the men [c]rowed desperately to return to land, but they could not, because the sea was becoming even stormier against them.
