⁴¹Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

⁴¹You are doing the works of your own father.”^(A)

“We are not illegitimate children,” they protested. “The only Father we have is God himself.”^(B)

⁴¹You are doing the works your father did.” They said to him, ^(A)“We were not born of sexual immorality. We have ^(B)one Father—even God.”

⁴¹You are doing the deeds of ^(A)your father.” They said to Him, “We were not born as a result of sexual immorality; ^(B)we have one Father: God.”
