The Healing at the Pool on the Sabbath

5 After this there was a ^(A)feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

^16 (A)“Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord your God at the place that he will choose: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Booths. ^(B)They shall not appear before the Lord empty-handed.

^14 (A)“Three times in the year you shall keep a feast to me. ^15 (B)You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. As I commanded you, you shall eat unleavened bread for seven days at the appointed time in the month of ^(C)Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt. ^(D)None shall appear before me empty-handed. ¹⁶ You shall keep ^(E)the Feast of Harvest, of the firstfruits of your labor, of what you sow in the field. You shall keep the ^(F)Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in from the field the fruit of your labor. ^17 (G)Three times in the year shall all your males appear before the Lord God.

^23 (A)Three times in the year shall all your males appear before the Lord God, the God of Israel.

² “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, ^(A)These are the appointed feasts of the Lord that you shall ^(B)proclaim as ^(C)holy convocations; they are my appointed feasts.

The Sabbath

^3 (D)“Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work. It is a Sabbath to the Lord in all your dwelling places.

The Passover

^4 (E)“These are the appointed feasts of the Lord, the ^(F)holy convocations, which you shall proclaim at the time appointed for them.

Jesus Cleanses the Temple

^13 (A)The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus ^(B)went up to Jerusalem.

⁴ But ^(A)when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, ^(B)born ^(C)of woman, born ^(D)under the law,

¹⁵ But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented.
