John 21:21-23
New English Translation

21 So when Peter saw him,[a] he asked Jesus, “Lord, what about him?” 22 Jesus replied,[b] “If I want him to live[c] until I come back,[d] what concern is that of yours? You follow me!” 23 So the saying circulated[e] among the brothers and sisters[f] that this disciple was not going to die. But Jesus did not say to him that he was not going to die, but rather, “If I want him to live[g] until I come back,[h] what concern is that of yours?”
