¹⁷ “Don’t cling to Me,” Jesus told her, “for I have not yet ascended^(A) to the Father.^(B) But go to My brothers^(C) and tell them that I am ascending to My Father^(D) and your Father—to My God^(E) and your God.”

¹⁸ Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord!”^(F) And she told them what^[a] He had said to her.

The Disciples Commissioned

¹⁹ In the evening of that first day of the week,^(G) the disciples were gathered together with the doors locked because of their fear of the Jews. Then Jesus came, stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!”^(H)
