²⁹ A jar full of sour wine stood there, ^(A)so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth.

¹⁸ Then a clean person shall take ^(A)hyssop and dip it in the water and sprinkle it on the tent and on all the furnishings and on the persons who were there and on whoever touched the bone, or the slain or the dead or the grave.

³⁶ The soldiers also mocked him, coming up and ^(A)offering him sour wine

³⁶ And someone ran and filled a sponge with ^(A)sour wine, put it on a reed ^(B)and gave it to him to drink, saying, “Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to take him down.”

⁴⁸ And one of them at once ran and took a sponge, filled it with ^(A)sour wine, and put it on a reed and ^(B)gave it to him to drink.

²² Take a bunch of ^(A)hyssop and ^(B)dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and touch ^(C)the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. ^(D)None of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.

^34 (A)they offered him wine to drink, mixed with ^(B)gall, but when he tasted it, he would not drink it.

³³ He spoke of trees, from the cedar that is in Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of the wall. He spoke also of beasts, and of birds, and of reptiles, and of fish.
