Disciples’ Relation to Each Other

¹² “This is ^(A)My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. ^13 (B)Greater love has no one than this, that a person will ^(C)lay down his life for his friends. ¹⁴ You are My ^(D)friends if ^(E)you do what I command you. ¹⁵ No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because ^(F)all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. ^16 (G)You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and ^(H)bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that ^(I)whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. ¹⁷ This ^(J)I command you, that you love one another.

³⁴ I am giving you a ^(A)new commandment, ^(B)that you love one another; ^(C)just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. ^35 (D)By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.”

Bear One Another’s Burdens

6 ^(A)Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are ^(B)spiritual are to ^(C)restore such a person ^(D)in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you are not tempted as well.

Discipline and Prayer

¹⁵ “Now ^(A)if your brother sins^[a], go and ^[b]show him his fault ^[c]in private; if he listens to you, you have gained your brother. ¹⁶ But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that ^(B)on the ^[d]testimony of two or three witnesses every ^[e]matter may be confirmed. ¹⁷ And if he refuses to listen to them, ^(C)tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, ^(D)he is to be to you as ^[f]a Gentile and ^[g]a tax collector.

⁸ in the same way we had a fond affection for you and were delighted to ^(A)share with you not only the ^(B)gospel of God, but also our own ^[a]lives, because you had become ^[b]very dear to us.

The Disciples in the World

¹³ But now ^(A)I am coming to You; and ^(B)these things I speak in the world so that they may have My ^(C)joy made full in themselves.
