John 14:9-17

⁹Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? ^(A)Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? ¹⁰Do you not believe that ^(B)I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you ^(C)I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. ¹¹Believe me that ^(D)I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else ^(E)believe on account of the works themselves.

¹²“Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(F)whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I ^(G)am going to the Father. ¹³^(H)Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that ^(I)the Father may be glorified in the Son. ¹⁴^(J)If you ask me^[a] anything in my name, I will do it.

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

¹⁵^(K)“If you love me, you will ^(L)keep my commandments. ¹⁶And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another ^(M)Helper,^[b] to be with you forever, ¹⁷even ^(N)the Spirit of truth, ^(O)whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and ^(P)will be^[c] in you.
