John 14:6-26

⁶ Jesus said to him, “I am ^(A)the way, and ^(B)the truth, and ^(C)the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. ^7 (D)If you had known me, you would have ^(E)known my Father also.^[a] From now on you do know him and ^(F)have seen him.”

^8 (G)Philip said to him, “Lord, ^(H)show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” ⁹ Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? ^(I)Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? ¹⁰ Do you not believe that ^(J)I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you ^(K)I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. ¹¹ Believe me that ^(L)I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else ^(M)believe on account of the works themselves.

¹² “Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(N)whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I ^(O)am going to the Father. ^13 (P)Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that ^(Q)the Father may be glorified in the Son. ^14 (R)If you ask me^[b] anything in my name, I will do it.

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

^15 (S)“If you love me, you will ^(T)keep my commandments. ¹⁶ And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another ^(U)Helper,^[c] to be with you forever, ¹⁷ even ^(V)the Spirit of truth, ^(W)whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and ^(X)will be^[d] in you.

¹⁸ “I will not leave you as orphans; ^(Y)I will come to you. ^19 (Z)Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but ^(AA)you will see me. ^(AB)Because I live, you also will live. ^20 (AC)In that day you will know that ^(AD)I am in my Father, and ^(AE)you in me, and ^(AF)I in you. ^21 (AG)Whoever has my commandments and ^(AH)keeps them, he it is who loves me. And ^(AI)he who loves me ^(AJ)will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and ^(AK)manifest myself to him.” ^22 (AL)Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it ^(AM)that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” ²³ Jesus answered him, ^(AN)“If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and ^(AO)we will come to him and ^(AP)make our home with him. ²⁴ Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And ^(AQ)the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.

²⁵ “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. ²⁶ But the ^(AR)Helper, the Holy Spirit, ^(AS)whom the Father will send in my name, ^(AT)he will teach you all things and ^(AU)bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
