²⁴ Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies,^(A) it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

⁴⁸ When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts^(A) and went away.

² They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, ³ but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.^(A)

³ After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them^(A) over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.^(B)

The Ascension of Jesus

⁵⁰ When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany,^(A) he lifted up his hands and blessed them. ⁵¹ While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.^(B)

⁴ All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit^(A) and began to speak in other tongues^[a](B) as the Spirit enabled them.
