John 11:11-13

11 When he had said this, Jesus added: “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep. But I’m going to wake him up.”
12 “Master,” replied the disciples, “if he’s asleep, he’ll be all right.”
13 (They thought he was referring to ordinary sleep; but Jesus had in fact been speaking of his death.)

11 After he had said this, he went on to tell them, “Our friend(A) Lazarus has fallen asleep;(B) but I am going there to wake him up.”
12 His disciples replied, “Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.” 13 Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep.(C)
