³² Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?”

¹² We should not be like ^(A)Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? ^(B)Because his own deeds were evil and his brother's righteous.

³⁸ how ^(A)God anointed Jesus of Nazareth ^(B)with the Holy Spirit and with ^(C)power. He went about doing good and healing all ^(D)who were oppressed by the devil, ^(E)for God was with him.

²² “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, ^(A)a man attested to you by God ^(B)with ^(C)mighty works and wonders and signs that ^(D)God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know—

^37 (A)If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me;

³⁶ But ^(A)the testimony that I have is greater than that of John. For ^(B)the works that the Father has given me ^(C)to accomplish, the very works that I am doing, ^(D)bear witness about me that ^(E)the Father has sent me.

The Authority of the Son

¹⁹ So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(A)the Son ^(B)can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father^[a] does, that the Son does likewise. ²⁰ For ^(C)the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And ^(D)greater works than these will he show him, so that ^(E)you may marvel.

^5 (A)the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers^[a] are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and ^(B)the poor have good news preached to them.

⁴ Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from a man's envy of his neighbor. This also is ^(A)vanity^[a] and a striving after wind.
