⁹ The true light^(A) that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.^[a](B)

¹⁹ This is the judgment: The light^(A) has come into the world,^(B) and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil.

¹⁴ When the people saw the sign^[a] he had done, they said, “This truly is the Prophet^(A) who is to come^(B) into the world.”^(C)

³⁹ Jesus said, “I came into this world^(A) for judgment,^(B) in order that those who do not see will see and those who do see will become blind.”^(C)

²⁷ “Yes, Lord,” she told him, “I believe you are the Messiah,^(A) the Son^(B) of God, who comes into the world.”^(C)

⁴⁶ I have come as light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me would not remain in darkness.
