John 1:8-10

⁸ John^[a] was not the light, but he came^[b] to testify about the light. ⁹ This^[c] was the true light that enlightens every person by his coming into the world.^{[d] 10} He was in the world, and the world was made through him. Yet the world did not recognize him.
