New International Version

14 Declare a holy fast;(A)
    call a sacred assembly.
Summon the elders
    and all who live in the land(B)
to the house of the Lord your God,
    and cry out(C) to the Lord.(D)

15 Alas for that(E) day!
    For the day of the Lord(F) is near;
    it will come like destruction from the Almighty.[a](G)

16 Has not the food been cut off(H)
    before our very eyes—
joy and gladness(I)
    from the house of our God?(J)
