Ang Sagot ni Job
9 Ito naman ang tugon ni Job:
2 “Matagal(A) ko nang alam ang mga bagay na iyan,
ngunit sino bang matuwid sa harap ng Maykapal?
3 Mayroon bang maaaring makipagtalo sa kanya?
Sa sanlibo niyang tanong,
walang makakasagot kahit isa.
4 Ang Diyos ay matalino at makapangyarihan,
sinong lumaban na sa kanya at nagtagumpay?
5 Walang sabi-sabing inuuga niya ang bundok,
sa tindi ng kanyang galit, ito'y kanyang dinudurog.
6 Ang buong lupa ay kanyang niyayanig,
at inuuga niya ang saligan ng daigdig.
7 Maaari(B) niyang pigilan ang pagsikat ng araw,
pati ang mga bituin sa kalangitan.
8 Mag-isa niyang inilatag ang sangkalangitan,
kanyang tinapakan ang dambuhalang karagatan.
9 Siya(C) ang gumawa ng mga bituin sa kalawakan, sa ‘Oso,’ sa ‘Orion,’
sa ‘Pleyades’ at sa mga kumpol ng mga bituin sa katimugan.
10 Makapangyarihan niyang gawa ay hindi maunawaan,
ang kanyang mga himala ay hindi mabibilang.
11 Siya'y nagdaraan ngunit hindi ko mamasdan, siya'y kumikilos ngunit hindi ko maramdaman.
12 Nakukuha niya ang anumang magustuhan, at sa kanya'y walang makakahadlang,
walang makakapagtanong, ‘Bakit mo ginawa iyan?’
13 “Ang poot ng Diyos ay hindi maglulubag
sa mga tumulong sa dambuhalang si Rahab.
14 Paano ko masasagot ang tanong niya sa akin? Maghahanap pa ako ng mga salitang aking bibigkasin.
15 Kahit ako'y walang sala, ang tangi kong magagawa,
sa harap ng Diyos na hukom ay magmakaawa.
16 Kahit bayaan niyang ako'y magsalita,
hindi ko rin matiyak kung ako'y papakinggan nga.
17 Malakas na bagyo at mga sugat ang sa aki'y ibinigay,
kahit wala naman siyang sapat na dahilan.
18 Ang hininga ko ay halos kanya nang lagutin,
puro kapaitan ang idinulot niya sa akin.
19 Sa lakas niyang taglay hindi siya kayang talunin,
hindi siya maaaring pilitin at sa hukuman ay dalhin.
20 Ako'y walang kasalanan at tapat na namumuhay,
ngunit bawat sabihin ko ay laban sa aking katauhan.
21 Wala nga akong sala, ngunit hindi na ito mahalaga,
wala nang halaga ang aking sarili, pagod na akong mabuhay.
22 Iisa ang pupuntahan ng lahat, ito ang aking nasabi.
Kapwa wawasakin ng Diyos ang masama at ang mabuti.
23 Kung ang taong matuwid ay biglang namatay,
tinatawanan ng Diyos ang sinapit ng kawawa.
24 Hinayaan niyang ang daigdig ay pagharian ng masama,
ang paningin ng mga hukom ay tinatakpan niya.
Kung di siya ang may gawa nito, sino pa nga kaya?
25 “Ang aking mga araw ay mabilis lumilipas, walang mabuting nangyayari kaya't nagmamadaling tumatakas.
26 Parang mabilis na bangka ang buhay kong ito,
kasing bilis ng agila kung dumadagit ng kuneho.
27 Kung kakalimutan ko na lang ang aking pagdurusa,
at tatawanan ko na lang ang aking problema,
28 nangangamba ako na inyong ipalagay,
na ang kasawian ko ay bunga ng aking kasalanan.
29 Kung ako'y napatunayan nang nagkasala, anong pagsisikap ang magagawa ko pa?
30 Hindi ako malilinis ng kahit anong sabon, hindi na ako puputi kuskusin man ng apog,
31 matapos mo akong ihagis sa napakaruming balon.
Ikinahihiya ako maging ng aking sariling damit.
32 Kung ang Diyos ay tao lang, siya'y aking sasagutin,
kahit umabot sa hukuman ang aming usapin.
33 Ngunit sa aming dalawa'y walang tagapamagitan,
upang alitan namin ay kanyang mahatulan.
34 Ang pamalo ng Diyos sana'y ilayo na sa akin,
at huwag na sana niya akong takutin.
35 At ihahayag ko ang nais kong sabihin,
sapagkat ako ang nakakaalam ng sarili kong damdamin.

King James Version
9 Then Job answered and said,
2 I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
3 If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.
4 He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?
5 Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.
6 Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.
7 Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.
8 Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.
9 Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.
10 Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.
11 Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
12 Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?
13 If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.
14 How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?
15 Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.
16 If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.
17 For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause.
18 He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.
19 If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?
20 If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.
21 Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.
22 This is one thing, therefore I said it, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.
23 If the scourge slay suddenly, he will laugh at the trial of the innocent.
24 The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?
25 Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away, they see no good.
26 They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that hasteth to the prey.
27 If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will leave off my heaviness, and comfort myself:
28 I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.
29 If I be wicked, why then labour I in vain?
30 If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean;
31 Yet shalt thou plunge me in the ditch, and mine own clothes shall abhor me.
32 For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.
33 Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.
34 Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his fear terrify me:
35 Then would I speak, and not fear him; but it is not so with me.

Job: There Is No Mediator
9 Then Job answered and said:
2 “Truly I know it is so,
But how can a (A)man be (B)righteous before God?
3 If one wished to [a]contend with Him,
He could not answer Him one time out of a thousand.
4 (C)God is wise in heart and mighty in strength.
Who has hardened himself against Him and prospered?
5 He removes the mountains, and they do not know
When He overturns them in His anger;
6 He (D)shakes the earth out of its place,
And its (E)pillars tremble;
7 He commands the sun, and it does not rise;
He seals off the stars;
8 (F)He alone spreads out the heavens,
And [b]treads on the [c]waves of the sea;
9 (G)He made [d]the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades,
And the chambers of the south;
10 (H)He does great things past finding out,
Yes, wonders without number.
11 (I)If He goes by me, I do not see Him;
If He moves past, I do not perceive Him;
12 (J)If He takes away, [e]who can hinder Him?
Who can say to Him, ‘What are You doing?’
13 God will not withdraw His anger,
(K)The allies of [f]the proud lie prostrate beneath Him.
14 “How then can I answer Him,
And choose my words to reason with Him?
15 (L)For though I were righteous, I could not answer Him;
I would beg mercy of my Judge.
16 If I called and He answered me,
I would not believe that He was listening to my voice.
17 For He crushes me with a tempest,
And multiplies my wounds (M)without cause.
18 He will not allow me to catch my breath,
But fills me with bitterness.
19 If it is a matter of strength, indeed He is strong;
And if of justice, who will appoint my day in court?
20 Though I were righteous, my own mouth would condemn me;
Though I were blameless, it would prove me perverse.
21 “I am blameless, yet I do not know myself;
I despise my life.
22 It is all one thing;
Therefore I say, (N)‘He destroys the blameless and the wicked.’
23 If the scourge slays suddenly,
He laughs at the plight of the innocent.
24 The earth is given into the hand of the wicked.
He covers the faces of its judges.
If it is not He, who else could it be?
25 “Now (O)my days are swifter than a runner;
They flee away, they see no good.
26 They pass by like [g]swift ships,
(P)Like an eagle swooping on its prey.
27 (Q)If I say, ‘I will forget my complaint,
I will put off my sad face and wear a smile,’
28 (R)I am afraid of all my sufferings;
I know that You (S)will not hold me innocent.
29 If I am condemned,
Why then do I labor in vain?
30 (T)If I wash myself with snow water,
And cleanse my hands with [h]soap,
31 Yet You will plunge me into the pit,
And my own clothes will [i]abhor me.
32 “For (U)He is not a man, as I am,
That I may answer Him,
And that we should go to court together.
33 (V)Nor is there any mediator between us,
Who may lay his hand on us both.
34 (W)Let Him take His rod away from me,
And do not let dread of Him terrify me.
35 Then I would speak and not fear Him,
But it is not so with me.
