He performs wonders(A) that cannot be fathomed,(B)
    miracles that cannot be counted.(C)
10 He provides rain for the earth;(D)
    he sends water on the countryside.(E)
11 The lowly he sets on high,(F)
    and those who mourn(G) are lifted(H) to safety.
12 He thwarts the plans(I) of the crafty,
    so that their hands achieve no success.(J)
13 He catches the wise(K) in their craftiness,(L)
    and the schemes of the wily are swept away.(M)
14 Darkness(N) comes upon them in the daytime;
    at noon they grope as in the night.(O)
15 He saves the needy(P) from the sword in their mouth;
    he saves them from the clutches of the powerful.(Q)
16 So the poor(R) have hope,
    and injustice shuts its mouth.(S)

God’s voice thunders(A) in marvelous ways;(B)
    he does great things beyond our understanding.(C)
He says to the snow,(D) ‘Fall on the earth,’
    and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’(E)
So that everyone he has made may know his work,(F)
    he stops all people from their labor.[a](G)
The animals take cover;(H)
    they remain in their dens.(I)
The tempest comes out from its chamber,(J)
    the cold from the driving winds.(K)
10 The breath of God produces ice,
    and the broad waters become frozen.(L)
11 He loads the clouds with moisture;(M)
    he scatters his lightning(N) through them.(O)
12 At his direction they swirl around
    over the face of the whole earth
    to do whatever he commands them.(P)
13 He brings the clouds to punish people,(Q)
    or to water his earth and show his love.(R)

14 “Listen(S) to this, Job;
    stop and consider God’s wonders.(T)
15 Do you know how God controls the clouds
    and makes his lightning(U) flash?(V)
16 Do you know how the clouds hang poised,(W)
    those wonders of him who has perfect knowledge?(X)
17 You who swelter in your clothes
    when the land lies hushed under the south wind,(Y)
18 can you join him in spreading out the skies,(Z)
    hard as a mirror of cast bronze?(AA)
