⁶⁷ Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists.^(A) Others slapped him

¹⁴ The Lord replied to Moses, “If her father had spit in her face,^(A) would she not have been in disgrace for seven days? Confine her outside the camp^(B) for seven days; after that she can be brought back.”

⁹ his brother’s widow shall go up to him in the presence of the elders, take off one of his sandals,^(A) spit in his face^(B) and say, “This is what is done to the man who will not build up his brother’s family line.”
