Job 3
Svenska Folkbibeln 2015
Jobs första tal:
3 Sedan öppnade Job sin mun och förbannade sin födelsedag. 2 Han sade:
3 (A) Låt dagen då jag föddes
bli utplånad,
och natten som sade:
”En pojke är född.”
4 Låt den dagen vändas i mörker,
må Gud i höjden
inte fråga efter den
och inget dagsljus lysa över den.
5 Låt mörker och dödsskugga
återkräva den
och molnen sänka sig
över den.
Låt mörker slå den med skräck
under dagen.
ur min moders liv?
12 Varför fanns knän
som tog emot mig,
varför bröst där jag fick dia?
13 Då hade jag legat i ro,
jag hade sovit och vilat
14 tillsammans med kungar
och jordens rådsherrar
som byggde sig palatslika gravar,
15 eller med furstar som ägde guld
och fyllde sina hus med silver.
16 (D) Eller varför blev jag inte nergrävd
som ett dödfött foster,
som ett barn
som aldrig såg ljuset?
17 (E) Där rasar inte de gudlösa längre,
där vilar de som uttömt sin kraft.
18 Där har alla fångar fått ro,
de hör inte slavdrivarens röst.
19 Små och stora är där lika,
och slaven är fri från sin herre.
20 Varför ges ljus åt den olycklige
och liv åt plågade själar,
21 (F) som längtar efter döden
utan att den kommer
och söker den mer än någon skatt,
22 som gläds i jubel och fröjdar sig
när de finner sin grav?
23 (G) Varför ges liv
åt en man vars väg är dold,
åt den som är instängd av Gud?
24 (H) Suckar har blivit mitt dagliga bröd,
mina sorgerop strömmar
som vatten,
25 för det jag var rädd för
har drabbat mig,
det jag fasade för kommer över mig.
26 (I) Jag får ingen rast,
ingen ro, ingen vila,
ångest kommer över mig.
Job 3
King James Version
3 After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day.
2 And Job spake, and said,
3 Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.
4 Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it.
5 Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.
6 As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months.
7 Lo, let that night be solitary, let no joyful voice come therein.
8 Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.
9 Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day:
10 Because it shut not up the doors of my mother's womb, nor hid sorrow from mine eyes.
11 Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?
12 Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck?
13 For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,
14 With kings and counsellors of the earth, which build desolate places for themselves;
15 Or with princes that had gold, who filled their houses with silver:
16 Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.
17 There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.
18 There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor.
19 The small and great are there; and the servant is free from his master.
20 Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, and life unto the bitter in soul;
21 Which long for death, but it cometh not; and dig for it more than for hid treasures;
22 Which rejoice exceedingly, and are glad, when they can find the grave?
23 Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?
24 For my sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like the waters.
25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
26 I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.
Job 3
English Standard Version
Job Laments His Birth
3 After this Job (A)opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth. 2 And Job said:
3 (B)“Let the day perish on which I was born,
and the night that said,
‘A man is conceived.’
4 Let that day be darkness!
May God above not seek it,
nor light shine upon it.
5 Let gloom and (C)deep darkness claim it.
Let clouds dwell upon it;
let the blackness of the day terrify it.
6 That night—let thick darkness seize it!
Let it not rejoice among the days of the year;
let it not come into the number of the months.
7 Behold, let that night be barren;
let no joyful cry enter it.
8 Let those curse it who curse the day,
who are ready to rouse up (D)Leviathan.
9 Let the stars of its dawn be dark;
let it hope for light, but have none,
nor see (E)the eyelids of the morning,
10 because it did not shut the doors of my mother's womb,
nor hide trouble from my eyes.
11 “Why (F)did I not die at birth,
come out from the womb and expire?
12 Why did (G)the knees receive me?
Or why the breasts, that I should nurse?
13 For then I would have lain down and been quiet;
I would have slept; then I would have been at rest,
14 with kings and counselors of the earth
who (H)rebuilt ruins for themselves,
15 or with princes who had gold,
who filled their houses with silver.
16 Or why was I not as a hidden (I)stillborn child,
as infants who never see the light?
17 There the wicked cease from troubling,
and there the weary are at (J)rest.
18 There the prisoners are at ease together;
they hear not the voice of (K)the taskmaster.
19 The small and the great are there,
and the slave is free from his master.
20 “Why is light given to him who is in misery,
and life to (L)the bitter in soul,
21 who (M)long for death, but it comes not,
and dig for it more than for (N)hidden treasures,
22 who rejoice exceedingly
and are glad when they find the grave?
23 Why is light given to a man whose (O)way is hidden,
whom God has (P)hedged in?
24 For my sighing comes (Q)instead of[a] my bread,
and my (R)groanings are poured out like water.
25 (S)For the thing that I fear comes upon me,
and what I dread befalls me.
26 I am not at ease, nor am I quiet;
I have no rest, but trouble comes.”
