Job 17:4-6

⁴For their heart Thou hast hidden From understanding, Therefore Thou dost not exalt them.

⁵For a portion he sheweth friendship, And the eyes of his sons are consumed.

⁶And he set me up for a proverb of the peoples, And a wonder before them I am.

⁴You have closed their minds to understanding;^(A)
therefore you will not let them triumph.
⁵If anyone denounces their friends for reward,^(B)
the eyes of their children will fail.^(C)

⁶“God has made me a byword^(D) to everyone,^(E)
a man in whose face people spit.^(F)
