⁴⁸ “Then ^(A)heaven and earth and all that is in them
Will shout for joy over Babylon,
For ^(B)the destroyers will come to her from the north,”
Declares the Lord.

⁵³ “Though Babylon should ^(A)ascend to the heavens,
And though she should fortify ^[a]her lofty stronghold,
From ^(B)Me destroyers will come to her,” declares the Lord.

⁸ “Because you have ^(A)looted many nations,
All the remainder of the peoples will loot you—
Because of human bloodshed and violence ^[a]done to the land,
To the town and all its inhabitants.
