² “Thus says the Lord: ^(A)He who stays in this city shall die by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence, ^(B)but he who goes out to the Chaldeans shall live. He shall have his life as a prize of war, and live.

²¹ But if you refuse to ^(A)surrender, this is the vision which the Lord has shown to me:

¹² To ^(A)Zedekiah king of Judah I spoke in like manner: ^(B)“Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and ^(C)serve him and his people and live. ^13 (D)Why will you and your people die ^(E)by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence, ^(F)as the Lord has spoken concerning any nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

^12 (A)and Jehoiachin the king of Judah gave himself up to the king of Babylon, himself and his mother and his servants and his officials and his palace officials. ^(B)The king of Babylon took him prisoner ^(C)in the eighth year of his reign
