Legacy Standard Bible
24 “Have you not seen what this people have spoken, saying, ‘The (A)two families which Yahweh chose, He has (B)rejected them’? Thus they have (C)spurned My people from being a nation any longer [a]in their sight. 25 Thus says Yahweh, ‘If My (D)covenant for day and night stand not, and the statutes for heaven and earth I have (E)not established, 26 then I would (F)reject the seed of Jacob and David My servant, [b]not taking from his seed (G)rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But I will [c](H)return their [d]fortunes and will have (I)compassion on them.’”

2 [a](A)God has not rejected His people whom He (B)foreknew. (C)Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he appeals to God against Israel? 3 “Lord, (D)they have killed Your prophets, they have torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they are seeking my life.” 4 But what does the divine response say to him? “(E)I have left for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” 5 In this way then, at the present time, (F)a remnant according to God’s [b]gracious choice has also come to be.
