Jeremiah Prays and God Explains

¹⁶ “After giving the deed of purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, I ^(A)prayed to the Lord, saying,

⁴ Then Jeremiah called ^(A)Baruch the son of Neriah, and Baruch wrote on a ^[a](B)scroll ^[b]at the dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the Lord which He had spoken to him.

⁵ Jeremiah then commanded Baruch, saying, “I am ^[a](A)restricted; I cannot go into the house of the Lord.

³² Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to the scribe Baruch the son of Neriah, and he ^(A)wrote on it at the ^[a]dictation of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and many ^[b]similar words were added to them.

³ but ^(A)Baruch the son of Neriah is inciting you against us in order to hand us over to the Chaldeans, so they will put us to death or exile us to Babylon!”

Message to Baruch

45 This is the message which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to ^(A)Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had ^(B)written these words in a book ^[a]at Jeremiah’s dictation, in the ^(C)fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying:
