¹⁵ Why ^(A)do you cry about your affliction?
Your sorrow is incurable.
Because of the multitude of your iniquities,
Because your sins have increased,
I have done these things to you.

^9 (A)I will bear the indignation of the Lord,
Because I have sinned against Him,
Until He pleads my ^(B)case
And executes justice for me.
He will bring me forth to the light;
I will see His righteousness.

⁶ For ^(A)whom the Lord loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”
