¹⁵ Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, “Listen, Hananiah! The Lord has not sent^(A) you, yet you have persuaded this nation to trust in lies.^(B)

²⁴ For there will be no more false visions or flattering divinations^(A) among the people of Israel. ²⁵ But I the Lord will speak what I will, and it shall be fulfilled without delay.^(B) For in your days, you rebellious people, I will fulfill^(C) whatever I say, declares the Sovereign Lord.^(D)’”

²⁸ Her prophets whitewash^(A) these deeds for them by false visions and lying divinations.^(B) They say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says’—when the Lord has not spoken.^(C)
