^11 (A)This whole land will be a desolation and a horror, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon ^(B)seventy years.

Babylon Will Be Judged

¹² ‘Then it will be ^(C)when seventy years are completed I will ^(D)punish the king of Babylon and that nation,’ declares the Lord, ‘for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans; and ^(E)I will make it an everlasting desolation.

^7 (A)All the nations shall serve him and his son and his grandson ^(B)until the time of his own land comes; then ^(C)many nations and great kings will ^[a]make him their servant.

¹⁰ “For thus says the Lord, ‘When ^(A)seventy years have been completed for Babylon, I will visit you and fulfill My ^(B)good word to you, to bring you back to this place.

⁵ and he will ^(A)take Zedekiah to Babylon, and he will be there until I visit him,” declares the Lord. “If you fight against the Chaldeans, you will ^(B)not succeed”’?”
