^5 (A)“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous ^(B)Branch, and ^(C)he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. ⁶ In his days Judah will be saved, and ^(D)Israel will ^(E)dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ^(F)‘The Lord is our righteousness.’

⁴ Then the word of the Lord came to me: ⁵ “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Like these good figs, so I will regard as good the exiles from Judah, ^(A)whom I have sent away from this place to the land of the Chaldeans. ^6 (B)I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land. ^(C)I will build them up, and not tear them down; ^(D)I will plant them, and not pluck them up. ^7 (E)I will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord, ^(F)and they shall be my people ^(G)and I will be their God, ^(H)for they shall return to me with their whole heart.
