Jeremiah 22:24-30
New American Standard Bible
24 “As I live,” declares the Lord, “even if [a](A)Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were a (B)signet ring on My right hand, yet I would pull [b]you [c]off; 25 and I will (C)hand you over to those who are seeking your life, yes, to those of whom you are frightened, that is, to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and the Chaldeans. 26 I will (D)hurl you and your (E)mother who gave birth to you into another country where you were not born, and there you will die. 27 But as for the land to which they long to return, they will not return to it.
28 Is this man Coniah a despised, shattered jar?
Or is he an (F)undesirable vessel?
Why have he and his descendants been (G)hurled out
And cast into a (H)land that they had not known?
29 (I)O land, land, land,
Hear the word of the Lord!
30 This is what the Lord says:
‘Write this man down as (J)childless,
A man who will (K)not prosper in his days;
For no man among his (L)descendants will prosper
Sitting on the throne of David
Or ruling again in Judah.’”

24 After (A)Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had taken into exile Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the officials of Judah with the craftsmen and metalworkers from Jerusalem and had brought them to Babylon, the Lord showed me: behold, two (B)baskets of figs placed before the temple of the Lord.

Message to the Exiles
29 Now these are the words of the (A)letter which Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem to the rest of the elders of the exile, the priests, the prophets, and all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had taken into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon. 2 (This was after King (B)Jeconiah and the (C)queen mother, the high officials, the leaders of Judah and Jerusalem, the craftsmen, and the metalworkers had departed from Jerusalem.)
