Jeremiah 2:7-9

⁷ I brought you to a fertile land^(A)
to eat its fruit and bounty,
but after you entered, you defiled My land;^(B)
you made My inheritance^(C) detestable.
⁸ The priests quit asking, “Where is the Lord?”
The experts in the law no longer knew Me,^(D)
and the rulers^(E) rebelled against Me.
The prophets prophesied by^[a] Baal^(F)
and followed useless idols.^(G)
