Jeremiah 2:35-37

^35 (A)Yet you say, ‘Because I am innocent,
Surely His anger shall turn from me.’
Behold, ^(B)I will plead My case against you,
^(C)Because you say, ‘I have not sinned.’
^36 (D)Why do you gad about so much to change your way?
Also ^(E)you shall be ashamed of Egypt ^(F)as you were ashamed of Assyria.
³⁷ Indeed you will go forth from him
With your hands on ^(G)your head;
For the Lord has rejected your trusted allies,
And you will ^(H)not prosper by them.
