Jeremiah 2:15-17

New International Version

¹⁵ Lions^(A) have roared;
    they have growled at him.
They have laid waste^(B) his land;
    his towns are burned^(C) and deserted.^(D)
16 Also, the men of Memphis^(E) and Tahpanhes^(F)
    have cracked your skull.
¹⁷ Have you not brought this on yourselves^(G)
    by forsaking^(H) the Lord your God
    when he led you in the way?
